Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta international airport is the most important in Indonesia and one of the busiest in Southeast Asia. It handdles most of the domestic flights and also receive flights from Southeast Asia, Australia, China, Japan, Middle East, among others. About 43.7 million passengers transited through it in 2010. AirAsia, Cebu Pacific, Jetstar Airways and Tiger Airways are low cost airlines operating on the premises.

Location
The Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is located 20 km (12 miles) northwest of Jakarta.

Number of Terminals - 2 - terminals are connected together by a shuttle bus.

Public Transport
Shuttles and taxis connect the airport with the metropolitan area. A shuttle service runs to Jakarta city center, with stops in Rawamangun, Blok M / Kebayoran, Gambier, Bekasi, Depok and Bogor (journey time - about one hour). On the other hand, taxis can be ordered from the counters located in the arrivals level (journey time to the city center: 30 to 45 minutes depending on the traffic). There are fixed rates and passengers must pay in the taxi counter and show the ticket to the driver.

Jakarta Airport also offers banks, currency exchange and post mail in Terminal 1. Terminal 2 has banks, currency exchange, as well as post mail services and automated teller machines (ATM).
