Narita International Airport is the best known and most important of Japan in terms of international traffic and the second busiest in the country behind the Haneda airport who concentrates most of the country's domestic flights. It receives flights from major points in Asia, Europe, Oceania, as well as Egypt, USA, Canada and Mexico. About 38 million passengers passed through it in 2011. Jetstar Airways is a low-cost carrier operating on the premises.

Location
Narita Airport is located in the eponymous town, Chiba Prefecture, 60 km (39 miles) east of Tokyo.

2 - The terminals are connected together by a free bus.

Public Transport
As Haneda airport, the transportation service provided by the Narita Airport is very convenient. Trains, buses, chauffeured limousines and taxis connect the airport with urban area. The terminals have rail stations. There are regular trains and express service to Tokyo and other domestic destinations. The Japan Railways - Tel. (04) 7633 1630) has the Narita Express which takes 56 minutes to get to Tokyo central railway station (fare: ¥2.940 - US$30) and other shuttle trains that reach Tokyo and other cities. In addition, there are two other companies operating in the terminals, Keisei Main Line journey time 91 minutes (ticket fare: ¥1.740 - US$17,75) and Narita SKY ACCESS Line (Tel. (03) 3621 2242) journey time 47 minutes (fare: ¥2.400 - US$24,50). There is a railway station in each of the terminals. Taxi ranks are located in both terminals. Fares: Zone A (Edogawa, Katsushika and Adachi) ¥15,000 JPY - $153 USD, Zone B (Koto and Sumida, Odaiba and Higashi-Yashio) ¥18,000 JPY - $184 USD, Zone C (Chuo, Chiyoda, Taito, Bunkyo and Arakawa) ¥19,000 JPY - $194 USD, Zone D (Shinjuku, Toshima, Nakano, Shibuya, Meguro, Minato, Shinugawa and Ota) ¥21,000 JPY - $214 USD, Zone E (Itabashi, Kita and Nerima) ¥23,000 JPY - $235 USD, Zone F (Setagaya and Suginami, Mitaka and Musashino) ¥24,000 JPY - $245 USD. In addition several bus companies (Keisei Bus, Heiwa Kotsu, Narita Kuko Kotsu, Chiva Kotsu and Shizutetsu Justline) go not only to the city center but also to Chiba, Kanagawa, Ibaraki, Saitama, Tochigi, Haneda airport, Miyagi, Fukushima, Yamanashi, Shizuoka, Osaka and Kyoto. Journey time to Tokyo city center 90 minutes (ticket fare: ¥3.000 - US$30,60). In addition, there are small limousine bus service running to the Tokyo and Shinjuku stations, nearby hotels, as well as to Haneda Airport.

Amenities include car rental (Mazda, Nippon, Nissan, Orix, Times and Toyota have offices in both terminals -arrivals level-, while Matsuda is located in Terminal 1 and Japaren in Terminal 2). Hire a car




The airport also provides banks, ATMs, money exchange, post office, service, rental mobile phones, public phones and free Wi-Fi, Vip lounges and business center (in Terminal 1).
Food and Drinks - Japanese restaurants and international cuisine, cafes and bars.
Shopping - souvenirs, several stores (including duty free), newspapers and tobacconist.
Baggage - left luggage and lockers. In case of lost or damage of checked baggage, contact the information desks.
Other Services - Narita Airport also provides medical and dental services, baby changing facilities, nursery, children's play room, showers and rooms with beds, hairdresser, beauty salon, laundry tub, among other facilities. Information desks are located in the arrivals and departures of both terminals. There is also a tourist information desk in Terminal 1.

Disabled Facilities - ramps, lifts, telephones and toilets, among other services. Wheelchairs are available (by arrangement with your airline or travel agency).

Parking - There are parking lots for short and long term, located near the terminals and with a total capacity of 2300 vehicles. Parking rates: ¥250 JPY ($2.55 USD) every 30 minutes during the first 3 and a half hours, and ¥2,000 JPY ($20.40 USD) daily. From the 5th day, the daily parking fee is ¥500 JPY ($5.10 USD). The car parks have spaces reserved for disabled people.

Accomodation - Tokyo Narita Airport has no hotels within the grounds but there ar some international hotels nearby with courtesy transportation, such as: Hilton Narita (Tel. (04) 7633 1121), ANA Crowne Plaza Hotel Narita (Tel. (04) 7633 1311), Hotel Nikko Narita (Tel. (04) 7632 0032), Narita Airport Rest House (Tel. (04) 7632 1212) and Toyoko Inn Narita Kuko (Tel.
