Kuala Lumpur international airport is Malaysia's largest terminal and one of the busiest in Asia. It operates throughout Asia, the main points of Europe, USA, Egypt, South Africa and Australia, among others. About 40 million passengers transited through it in 2012. AirAsia, Cebu Pacific, Jetstar Airways, Lion Air, Mandala Airlines, Tiger Airways and TUIfly are low cost airlines operating on the premises.

Location
Kuala Lumpur International Airport is located in the district of Sepang, Selangor State, 50 km (31 miles) south of Kuala Lumpur.

Number of Terminals - 2 - terminals are joined by a train.

Public Transport
Trains, buses, limousines and taxis connect the airport with the urban area. An express train service KLIA Ekspres (Tel. (03) 2267 8088) takes 28 minutos to reach Kuala Lumpur city center (frequency ranges between 15-20 minutes ; ticket fare $35 MYR - US$ 11,50), and a light train (KLIA Transit) connect the airport with Kuala Lumpur railway station in 35 minutes (departs every 30 minutes). On the other hand express buses (ticket fare: $10 MYR - US$3,30) carry passengers to the city center and neighboring towns such as Nilai ($3 MYR - US$1) and Banting ($3,50 MYR - US$1,15). Bus stops are on ground floor of parking C. Taxi ranks are located in the arrivals level and can be booked in the lobby of both, the international and domestic terminal. There are four types of taxis: Budget Taxi, Premier Limo, Super Luxury and Family Service. The rate to downtown Kuala Lumpur is about $60 MYR (US$19).

Facilities and Services
There are counters for car rental from the most recognized companies (Avis, Kasina Baru, Pantas, Mayflower, National, Thrifty, Orix, INSAS, Hertz) in the arrivals hall and are open 24 hours. Hire a car




Kuala Lumpur Airport also offers banking and currency exchange, cash machines (ATM), post office, public telephones and internet Wi-Fi. The Plaza Premium Lounge is within 5 minutes and has a business center for conferences and other operations. In turn some nearby hotels have the infrastructure and equipment for executive activities.
Food and Drinks - a wide range of cafes, bars, restaurants and fast food.
Shopping - several shops, including duty free, souvenirs, newspapers and tobacconist, bookstores, jewelry, perfume, among others.
Baggage - There are luggage trolleys, wrapping service and lockers. In case of lost luggage, report the incident at the information desk.
Other Services - nursing and pharmacy, medical clinic open 24 hours, baby changing facilities, prayer room, fitness center with showers, sauna and spa at the Transit Hotel. There are information desks and interactive displays located throughout the airport and a customer service center located near the baggage claim area.

Disabled Facilities - ramps, lifts, telephones and toilets, among other facilities. For those passengers requiring special needs is recommended prior coordination with your airline or travel agency.

Parking - Kuala Lumpur Airport has a large parking capacity, a covered multi-storey car park, next to the terminals and for short stays. The long-term car park is farther away the terminal and outdoors, but it is connected to the terminals and to nearby hotels by a shuttle service. Rates for car parks B and C: first hour $4 MYR ($1.35 USD), half day $34 MYR ($11.20 USD) and $46 MYR ($15 USD) per hour. There are spaces reserved for disabled people. Accomodation - Inside Kuala Lumpur airport, in the satellite building, lies the Airside Transit Hotel, and a 5 minute walk stands the KLIA Pan Pacific Hotel (Tel. (03) 8787 3333).
