Singapore Changi International Airport is the busiest in Southeast Asia and one of the most active in Asia. It is considered one of the best airports in the world. It operates throughout Asia, the main points of Europe, USA, South Africa and Australia, among others. About 51.2 million passengers passed through it in 2012. Tiger Airways, AirAsia, Cebu Pacific, Firefly and Jetstar Airways are low cost airlines operating at the airport.

Location
Singapore's international airport is located 20 km (13 miles) northeast of Singapore.

Number of Terminals - 3 - terminals are joined by a free train service.

Transportation
Trains, public and express buses and taxis connect the airport with the urban area. The train stops are located under Terminals 2 and 3 and the trip to downtown Singapore takes about half an hour. There is a train (West direction) running to Tanah Merah station, and from there trains depart toward Singapur (the last one departs: 11:18 pm). Each terminal has bus stops and because passengers have to pay the fare with exact change (ticket fare: 2 SGD - US$1.65), there are machines that provide the necessary change for the ticket. The bus line 36 run from the airport to the city center and viceversa and operates from 6:00 am to 12:00 am (journey time to Singapur city center, 60 minutes). Bus stops are outside the terminals. Taxis are located outside the arrivals level and operate 24 hours. The taxi cab service is provided by "Maxi Cabs" and the journey time to Singapur is 30 minutes (rates: $28 SGD US$22). In addition, a shuttle service carries passengers from the airport complex to any hotel in Singapore and around the district. Singapore airport also offers 24-hour banking and currency exchange services, automated teller machines (ATM), post office in each terminal, public phones and internet Wi-Fi, free local calls during the hours of flight operations. Each terminal has a transit hotel and business center for conferences and other operations. In turn some hotels located near the site have the infrastructure and equipment for executive activities.
Food and Drinks - a wide range of cafes, bars and restaurants with regional and international cuisine.
Shopping - several shops, including duty-free, souvenirs, newspapers and tobacconist and a small supermarket in each terminal open 24 hours.
Baggage - Luggage storage in each terminal. For lost and found items go to the information desks.
Other Services - medical services in the terminals and a medical center open 24 hours on the ground floor of Terminal 2; baby changing facilities in the women's toilet, entertainment areas for children, showers, gym, pool, prayer rooms, among others. Each terminal has general information and travel desk, and hotlines all over the airport.

Disabled Facilities - The airport entrances, elevators and toilets, wheelchair for rent in medical centers, among other facilities. For those passengers requiring special needs is recommended prior coordination with your airline or travel agency.

Parking - Each terminal has its own parking area with short and long-term car parks, and a total of 5,000 parking spaces. Rates: $2,50 SGP (US$2) for the first 3 hours and $20 SGP (US$16,10) daily. Disabled parking is also available.
