Budapest international airport is the most important in Hungary. It operates not only with major cities in Europe but also North America, Caribbean, Africa and Middle East, among other destinations. Around 8.9 million passengers passed through it in 2011. Airline companies: Air Berlin, AirBaltic, EasyJet, GermanWings, Jet2, Norwegian Air Shuttle, Ryanair, Transavia and Wizz Air.

Location
Budapest International Airport is located 16 km (10 miles) southeast of the city.

Number of Terminals -
2 - terminals are connected by a covered walkway and there is a bus service as well.

Public Transport
Buses, trains, minibuses and taxis connect the airport with urban areas. Public bus line No 93 runs from Terminal 1 to the metro station Kobánya-Kispest, and then by the metro blue line (3) passengers can reach Deák Ferenc Square in 20 minutes. Ticket fare $320 HUF (€1,15 Euros), but if you buy it to the driver it costs $400 HUF (€1,50 Euros). Public bus 200E connects the terminals 1 and 2 with Kobánya-Kispest metro station as well. By train within 30 minutes you can get from Budapest Nyugati train station to the airport and vice versa; stops are connected by a walkway in Terminal 1. The night bus 900 runs from the Liszt Ferenc airport to Del-Pest bus station, and the lines 950 e 950A departs from Bajcsy-Zsilinszky út stop toward Budapest city center. Minibus services are also available 24 hours, and reservation can be made on AirportShuttles-Minibus desks (Terminal 1, 2A and 2B) or 24 hours in advance via online or by dialing the number +36-1-296-8555. Taxi fares are set by zones (between 14 and 24 euros), and stops are at terminals 2A and 2B. FöTaxi (Tel. (+36-1) 222 2 222) provides the airport cab service. Depending on the destination in Budapest, the taxi fare ranges between $3.800 and $6.500 HUF (€14 and €24 Euros).

There are car rental desks from the most recognized companies in the arrival level (Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, BuchBinder and Sixt). Hire a car




The airport offers banking services, ATMs, bureau of change, post office, public telephones and Wi-Fi. The business center is located in Terminal 2B, with conference, meeting rooms and VIP lounges.
Food and Drinks - several restaurants, fast food, cafes and bars in both terminals.
Shopping - shops, duty-free and souvenirs, newspapers and tobacconist.
Baggage - 24 hour left luggage service in the arrivals level of Terminal 2B (tel: (01) 296 8802). Lost and found property office (tel: (01) 296 7000)
Other Services - chapel in Terminal 2B, booking hotels desk in Terminal 1, first aid center, nursing, baby changing room, bathrooms with showers, among other facilities. Info desks are located on Terminal 2, while the tourist information offices are all over both terminals.

Disabled Facilities - ramps, adapted toilets, assistance for blind passengers, among other services. For people requiring wheelchair or other special needs is recommended to contact 48 hours in advance with your airline company or travel agency.

Parking - There are 2,500 spaces in 2 parking lots. Terminal 1 has 500 spaces for parking express, long and short-term car park, and bus parking lot. Terminal 2 has 2,000 spaces for short and long-stay, guarded long-stay car park and bus parking lot. In short-term and express car parks the first 10 minutes are free of charge. Parking fees: premium parking lot: $3.000 HUF (€11) hourly, $30.000 HUF (€107) daily and $150.000 HUF (€534) weekly; Terminal parking lot: $1.200 HUF (€5) hourly, $7.000 HUF (€25) daily and $31.000 HUF (€111) weekly. There are spaces reserved for disabled people.

Accomodation - Hotel Stacio is within the airport grounds and in addition there is a booking hotels deks for passengers who want to make reservations with other hotels.
