Edinburgh Airport is one of the most important airports in Scotland and one of the busiest in the United Kingdom. It serves not only to the metropolitan area of Edinburgh but also to the entire region of Scotland. It has flights to major European points, among others. About 9.38 million passengers transited through it in 2011. Several low cost airlines are operating at the airport, such as: Jet2, GermanWings, Brussels Airlines, Ryanair, EasyJet, Norwegian Air Shuttle, TUifly, Vueling and Flybe.

Edinburgh International Airport is located 13 km (8 miles) west of Edinburgh.

Public Transport
Buses, minibuses and taxis connect the airport with the entire metropolitan area. The bus stops are in the domestic arrivals area and go to the central bus station in Edinburgh in Waverley Bridge and to the Edinburgh Haymarket train station as well (for this destination there are three different bus services). Bus service details: Airlink 100, with a frequency of 10 minutes and a journey time of 25 minutes with stops at Waverley Bridge, near Princess Street and the railway and bus stations (ticket fare: €4,15); the N22 night bus, departing every 30 minutes with a journey time of 28 minutes to the downtown via South Gyle and to the shopping center Ocean Terminal in Leith (ticket fare: €3,55). Line 35, departing every 15 minutes and a jorney time of 1 hour depending on traffic conditions and stops at the city center, the Ocean Terminal shopping center and several intermediate points during the route (ticket fare: €1,65). In addition, several express services go to different parts of central Edinburgh. There are 3 taxi options: private airport taxis provided by the Onward Travel company (Tel. +44 (0)131 333 2255). Taxis reserved in advance by the Edinburgh City Private Hire company (Tel. +44 (0)131 477 4000); and black cabs running to the city. The taxi rank is located outside the arrivals area. Train station is 25 minutes from the airport by taxi or by bus (Airlink 100 and N22), from there you can get to different points of Edinburgh (Tel. +44 (0)8457 484950).

There are car rental offices from the most recognized companies in the domestic arrivals hall (Alamo, Avis, Europcar, Hertz, National, Budget, Enterprise, Dollar, Thrifty and Sixt). Hire a car




Edinburgh Airport has automated teller machines (ATM), bureau of change, post office, VIP lounges, public telephones and Wi-Fi. The Hilton Edinburgh Airport Hotel has conference rooms and equipment for up to 300 people while the Quality Hotel Airport has rooms up to 80 attendees.
Food and drink - Restaurants, cafes and bars located throughout the grounds, plus a Food Court.
Shopping - several souvenir shops, newsstands and magazines, duty free shops, among others.
Baggage - left luggage, lost and found office on the ground floor (tel +44 (0) 131 344 3486), trolleys in the parking lot and the terminal.
Other Services- baby changing facilites, prayer room, among other amenities. Edinburgh Airport has a general and tourism information desk near the international arrivals area.

Disabled Facilities - has ramps, restrooms, elevators and flight information monitors adapted, TDD phones, ability to travel with guide dogs (by registration in Pet Travel Scheme and if permitted by the airline), induction loop system for Hard of Hearing People, among other services. For passengers requiring wheelchair or other special needs is recommended to communicate this in advance with your airline or travel agency.

Parking - Edinburgh airport parking area has car parks for short-term (about 2 000 boxes) and long-stays, the first is located near the terminal while the long-stay one is more distant but a free bus service offers transfers. Furthermore, there are 150 parking spaces in the Vip area (inside de short-term car park). Parking rates in short-term car park: €5,40 hourly, €34 daily and €164 weekly; long-term car park: €14,15 daily. There are spaces reserved for disabled people.
