Boston Logan International Airport is one of the most important airports in the United States. Located in the Boston metropolitan area, Massachusetts ( East Boston neighborhood). It serves the entire New England region with domestic flights to major parts of the country and, internationally, it not only operates with neighboring countries but also throughout Latin America and Europe. Around 28.9 million passengers travelled through it in 2011. Several airline companies (some of them low cost) operate at the airport, such as JetBlue Airways, Frontier Airlines, KLM, AirTran Airways, Southwest Airlines, Spirit Airlines, Air Canada, Air Berlin, Bmi, COPA Airlines, American Airlines, United Airlines, British Airways, US Airways, etc.

Location
The airport is located 6 km (4 miles) northeast of Boston city (across the bay) on Harborside Drive, Massport, East Boston.

Number of Terminals - 4 - It has an express bus service between the terminals, the Airport metro station (blue line MBTA), the water transport terminal and satellite parking.

Public Transport
Trains, buses, metro, sea buses (water shuttle) and taxis connect the airport with the metro area. A free shuttle bus (Massport) stops at each terminal, at the "T" metro station, and the the water shuttle dock. The Metro offers service to all points in downtown Boston. There are also several bus lines that connect the airport with several parts of Boston and surrounding towns such as Braintree, Framingham, Peabody and Woburn. Limousines can also be rented. Buses 448, 459 and CT3 go to different places in the Boston area. The taxi ranks are located throughout the terminals and operate 24 hours. By sea there is a free bus service, The Water Transportation Bus Service (Route 66), which connects all airport terminals and the Port Logan and the MBTA station. Here there are high speed catamarans and "taxi boats" going to Boston Harbor. In all terminals there are transport information.

Facilities and Services
There are car rental  desks from the most recognized companies ( Advantage Rent A Car, Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National and Thrifty). Hire a car


The airport also offers currency exchange offices, banks, automated teller machines (ATM) in all terminals, mobile rental services, public phones and Wi-Fi Internet access. The two hotels located at the airport grounds offer business facilities with meeting and conference rooms.
Food and drink - restaurant with international cuisine, fast food, cafes and bars located throughout the complex, primarily in terminals B, C and E.
Shopping - various shops in terminals B and C, including duty free in Terminals B and E, souvenirs, newspapers and tobacconist, etc.
Baggage - Lost and found service inside the grounds is provided by the airport police station (tel. (617) 568-7514). For loss or damage of checked bagagge please call (617) 561-2047.
Other Services - medical center, children's play area, shoe shine, spa, a museum, a hairdresser, among others. The information booths are located throughout the airport.

Disabled Facilities - ramps and toilets, 24 hours TDD help desk, among other services for people with disabilities and the elderly. The airport has guide dogs for visually impaired travellers. There is also a park outside the terminals, for pets and guide dogs care. For passengers requiring wheelchairs or special assistance it is recommended prior coordination with the travel agency or airline company.

Parking - Boston Airport has parking for short and long term in the central parking, which is connected to the terminals via pedestrian bridges. In addition, there are two covered car parks located in front of terminals B and E with direct access to these terminals. In all parking spaces there are reserved spots for the handicapped. There are two car parks far from the terminals, with budget rates and parking for long stays, which are connected with the terminals by a free bus. Accomodation - There are two hotels within the airport grounds: Harborside Hyatt Hotel and Hilton Logan Hotel. Also, in the vicinity of Boston airport there are several hotels and they often have an exclusive bus or shuttle to transport guests.
