Buffalo Airport serves the Buffalo metropolitan area along with the region of Niagara Falls. Since it is a tourist attraction, it operates with a lot of flights. Around 5.4 million passengers transited through it in 2009. Some low cost airlines operate at the site, such as AirTran Airways, JetBlue Airways and Southwest Airlines.

The Buffalo airport is located 14 km (9 miles) east of Buffalo.

Public Transport
Buses, minibuses, limousines and taxis connect the airport with the metro area. Bus services Greyhound Bus and NFTA-Metro buses (Routes 24B-Genesee-, 68-George Urban-and 204-Airport-Downtown Express-) make the journey to the center and several parts of Greater Buffalo. In turn, there are express bus services that also go to downtown Buffalo. On the other hand some buses leave directly to Niagara Falls in just over one hour journey and others go to the Buffalo's Amtrak train station in 50 minutes where combinations can be made. Buses depart from the lower level of the Arrivals area. Taxis are available outside the terminal in the arrivals level and is recommended to agree the price with the driver before departing. In addition, a shuttle service leaves every hour to the nearby Buffalo and Niagara Falls hotels. And on the terminal's lower level, outside of the baggage claim area, there are bus stops, express buses and taxis ranks going to the Canadian side.

There are car rental desks from the most recognized companies (Alamo, Avis, Hertz, Budget, Enterprise, National) on the ground floor of the short term covered car park garage . Outside the airport: Thrifty, Dollar and Boulevard Van City. Hire a car


Buffalo airport has currency exchange services, and automated teller machines (ATM), post office, Wi-Fi Internet and public phones. The business center is equipped with conference and meeting rooms, banking, mail and internet access.
Food and drink - at the top level of the terminal is the food court with restaurants, bars, fast food, cafes, vending machines.
Shopping - The top level of the terminal has several shops and newsstands.
Baggage - lost and found office is managed by the Police Department (tel: 716 630 6150). In case of loss or damage of checked luggage, go to the airline or the general information desk.
Other Services - Hairdresser, children's playground, among other facilities. On the lower level of the Terminal lies the customer information center, near the baggage claim area. During tje high tourist season, there are also airport staff around the terminal complex to assist tourists and travelers.

Disabled Facilities - Buffalo Airport provides facilities for people with disabilities (ramps, elevators, TDD phones and adapted toilets, Braille signs, among other services). For passengers requiring wheelchairs or special assistance is recommended prior coordination with the travel agency or airline company.

Parking - The Buffalo airport has a capacity close to 7000 spots, has a covered area for short stays next to the terminal building. It also has several areas of long-term parking and a premium car park well located in the parking garage on the lower level. In all the parking lots the first half hour is free.
