Houston International Airport serves the entire metropolitan area and neighboring cities and is one of the busiest in the country and the world, serving domestic and international flights to destinations in Asia, Europe, Africa and Latin America. About 40.2 million passengers traveled through it in 2011. Several companies operate at the airport, such as United Airlines, bmi, Copa Airlines, Air Canada, Expressjet, Taca, Delta Air Lines, Air France, Lufthansa, American Airlines, British Airway, among others.

Location
Houston International Airport is located 37 km (23 miles) north of the city of Houston and next to the Humble town.

Number of Terminals -
5 - A free subway train runs to all terminals and the airport hotel. A shuttle bus connecting the terminals is available as well.

Public Transport
Public and express buses, shuttles, courtesy vans, metro, limousines and taxis connect the airport with Houston metro area. Taxi ranks are situated next to each terminal. Some of their destinations and fixed fees are: $44.5 downtown Houston, P. Williams Airport Hobby $62, North Houston $38, Willowbrook $35, Kingwood $28.5, Ellington Airport $74.5. Public buses leave from the south side of Terminal C. There is also a direct shuttle service from downtown Houston to the airport which a journey time of 30 minutes. The SuperShuttles company provides door to door service and also links the airport with the domestic airport Houston William P. Hobby (for reservations call +1 (713) 523 8888). There is also a complimentary shuttle service going to different hotels near the airport. You can get free ticket for this service through the courtesy phones found in the baggage claim area. The Metro has a stop on the west side of Terminal C, and goes to the city center. In all terminals there is a booth information about transportation, or by calling +1 281-230-3180.

Facilities and Services
There are car rental offices from the most recognized companies (Advantage, Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National and Thrifty). A bus leaves from the arrivals level of each terminal to the car rental offices. Hire a car




The airport also offers currency exchange services, automated teller machines (ATM), 24-hour postal service, public telephone and Wi-Fi. The business center is in the Houston Airport Marriott, located within the airport grounds, equipped with conference rooms and is reached by a subway train.
Food and drink - restaurants, fast food, cafes and bars located throughout the grounds. In total, the airport has more than 50 locations that provide this type of service.
Shopping - shops, including duty free are located in Terminal D.
Baggage - carts luggage are available; lost and found office is located on the ground floor of Terminal A.
Other Services - baby changing facilities available in women's restrooms, chapel, defibrillators, shoeshine service, among other amenities. There are information booths in the airport baggage claim area of ??each terminal and the staff is multilingual.

Disabled Facilities - Houston intercontinental Airport provides facilities for people with disabilities (ramps, TDD telephones, toilets, lifts, escalators, among other services). There are also wheelchairs available (by arrangement with your airline company in advance).

Parking - Houston Airport has more than 25 000 parking spaces, both on campus and next to it. Each terminal has its own parking area and in turn there is a parking garage between Terminals A and B. A free bus connects all car-parks with the terminal buildings. In all parking lots are spaces reserved for the handicapped.

Accomodation - Houston Airport Marriott is located within the Airport complex between terminals B and C and is connected to the terminals by an underground train. In addition, near Houston airport there are several international hotels like Hyatt, Best Western Atascosita, Best Western, Clarion Hotel, Comfort Suites Intercontinental, among others, and usually have courtesy shuttle buses.
