Miami International Airport represents a connection point between the U.S. and Latin America. It also has several flights to Europe and worldwide locations. Indeed, it is the third busiest american airport (in terms of international flights) behind New York JFK and Los Angeles LAX. And as regards, it is also a connection point between the airports in the United States with Latin America and the Caribbean. Around 38.3 million passengers passed through it in 2011. Several airlines operate at the airport such as: American Airlines, AeroMexico, Delta Air Lines, Air Berlin, Avianca, Alitalia, WestJet, British Airways, Copa Airlines, Lufthansa, American Eagle, Air Canada, TACA, Air France, KLM, Lan, V Australia, and others.

The airport is located 13 km (8 miles) northwest of Miami's financial center.

3 - Terminal North (Concourse D), Central Terminal (Concourses E, F, G) and South Terminal (Concourses H and J)

Public Transport
Taxis, limousines, express and public buses, trains, Metrorail and minibuses (airport SuperShuttle) link the airport to Miami Beach and several other areas of Miami County. The Metrorail Orange Line runs 2.5 miles (4 km) in 20 minutes to link the airport with Miami city center, between Dadeland South and Erlinghton Heights (ticket fare: USD 2). The express bus Airport Flyer (Route 150) connects the airport to Miami Beach (Collins Avenue and 16th Street) operating from 6 am to 11 pm daily, with one intermediate stop: Earlington Heights Metrorail station. In turn, the public buses 7, 37, 42, 57, J (110), 238 and 297 are leave toward different parts of Miami and Brickell area. Stops are at the central station (Miami Airport station). The free MIA Metromover connects the terminals with the station. In turn, the 133 Express Tri-Rail shuttle has stops at the ground floor (Concourse E) opposite the customer service counters and Concourse J. On the other hand,Tri-Rail trains runs through the Metrorail station, North Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Broward County, Palm Beach County and West Palm Beach. They also depart and arrive from Miami Airport Station, located very close to the site. Taxi ranks are located in the baggage claim area and the rates are as follows: airport area $10 - $15, Coconut Grove $20, Key Biscayne $40, Downtown Miami $20, Port of Miami $25, Miami Beach $32 , Bal Harbor $43, Sunny Isles $52, Ft Lauderdale $80.

Facilities and Services
Counters of several companies are available, such as (Ace, Advantage, All Day Rent a Car, Luxury Excellence, EZ Rent a Car, Global, Payless, P & P Family Auto Rental, Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, Royal Rent A Car, Thrifty and Sixt Rent a Car) in the baggage claim area on level 1 of the terminal. Miami airport also offers banking services, currency exchange, cash machines (ATM), post mail, phones and internet Wi-Fi, conference and meeting rooms fully equipped, through Miami International Airport Hotel located in the lobby E.
Food and drink - restaurants, fast foods and snacks, 24 hour bars. Shopping - shops including duty-free in lobbies A and F.
Baggage - Luggage carts for transportation and left luggage service. For lost belongings inside the enclosure contact 305-876-7377 . In case of loss or damage of checked baggage, go to the counter of the airline concerned.
Other Services - hairdressers, pharmacies, an art gallery, shoeshine and a chapel, among others. There is an information and tourism desk in level 2 of the terminal.

Disabled Facilities - Miami Airport provides facilities for people with disabilities (ramps, TDD telephones, disabled toilets, among other services). There are also wheelchairs available (by prior arrangement with your airline or travel agency).

Parking - Miami International Airport has two large covered parking lots for long-term and two outdoor car-parks for short-term. In all parking lots there are spaces reserved for handicapped and Valet Parking. For further information call (305) 876 7536

Accomodation - Inside the airport stands the Miami International Airport Hotel. Outside the complex is located the Element Miami International Airport and just 2 blocks away from the Miami Central Station. In addition, near the Miami airport there are several hotels and most of them have courtesy buses to transport guests. There is also hotel information and reservations booths inside the terminals.
