New Jersey international airport is one of the most modern in the US and receive national and international flights. It serves not only New Jersey but also the entire New York area (along with New York JFK and La Guardia - the other two airports) since it is located only 16 miles from Manhattan. Around 33.71 million passengers passed through it in 2011. Location
Newark Airport is located 3 km (2 miles) from New Jersey city and 26 km (16 miles) southwest of New York. It is situated on the Highway exit 78 from Manhattan via Holland Tunnel, and on the Highway 95 from New Jersey.

Number of Terminals - 3 - The Airtrain rail service and a free shuttle bus connect all terminals to each other and with the parking area. There are also some taxis that offer this transfer service.

Public Transport
Trains, buses, shuttles and taxis connect the airport with the metro area. Trains (AirTrain) are the simplest way to travel from the airport to different parts of New Jersey city (it operates 24/7, 365 days a year); the service also comes to Manhattan and parts of north and to Philadelphia and the south. Airtrain service within the complex is free of charge and outside the airport grounds the ticket fare is USD 5.50 per person children under 11 years travel for free). There are many Shuttles companies going to different areas as well. Public buses, lines 37, 40, 62, 67 reach the airport. In all terminals are transport information. Most stops are located opposite the main door of the arrivals level. Taxis are available outside the terminal building, and some of taxi fares and destinations are: between terminals $13, New York / Manhattan $50 - $70, downtown Newark $17, downtown Elizabeth $23, downtown Jersey $46, downtown Hackensack $59, downtown New Brunswick $59, downtown Teterboro $49, JFK Airport $85 and LaGuardia Airport $87.

Food and drink - restaurants, fast food, cafes and bars throughout the site.
Shopping - shops, including duty free, souvenirs, newspapers and tobacconist, in all terminals.
Baggage - Luggage carts available in the baggage claim area and in turn there is a lost and found office (tel: (973) 961 6230 ).
Other Services - a medical clinic and first aid, baby changing facilities, a chapel, among other services. In all terminals there are information desks, and multilingual uniformed personnel running through the site for assistant.

Disabled Facilities - Newark Airport provides facilities for people with disabilities (ramps, elevators, TDD telephones, toilets, among other services). Avis and Hertz have cars adapted for people with reduced mobility. There are also wheelchairs available (by arrangement with your airline or travel agency in advance).

Parking - Newark Airport has a total capacity of 17 000 vehicles with parking lots for short or long term and a multi-storey car park. There is also a cheaper parking outside.
