Brisbane Airport is one of the most important in Australia. It operates with several domestic and international flights to/from neighboring countries, Asia (Middle and Far East), United States, among other destinations. Around 20.28 million passengers transited through it in 2011. Some low cost airlines are operating at the airport, such as: Jetstar Airways, Virgin Blue, Pacific Blue, Tiger Airways, V Australia and others.

Location
Brisbane International Airport is located 13 km (8 miles) northeast of the city.

Number of Terminals - 2 - a bus connects the international with the domestic terminal.

Public Transport
Trains, buses and taxis connect the airport with the metro area. The Airtrain runs from the terminal complex to the central train station in Brisbane; journey time 20 minutes (ticket rate: $15,50 australian dollars) and half an hour to Gold Coast ($30 dollars). Stops are at the exit of international and domestic terminals. In turn, several buses connect the airport with the transit center in Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. The only company licensed to operate is Coachtrans Australia. A door to door shuttle service is available as well. Taxi ranks are located opposite the terminals. The airport licensed taxi service is provided by: Black & White Cabs (Tel. 133 322) and Yellow Cabs (Tel. 131 924). The rate to Brisbane city centre is about $30 australian dollars (journey time: 30 minutes).

Facilities and Services
There are car rental desks from the most recognized companies (Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, Red Spot and Thrifty) at level 2 (international terminal) and ground floor (domestic terminal). Hire a car




The airport also offers automated teller machine (ATM), currency exchange service, public phones and Wi-Fi. It has conference and meeting rooms.
Food and Drinks - pizza, bakery, bars, cafes and restaurants throughout the airport.
Shopping - There are also various shops in both terminals, duty-free items located in the international terminal, souvenirs, newspapers and tobacconist, entre outros.
Baggage - Left luggage service, lost and found office in both terminals (International Terminal Phone: +61 7 3406 3190 ).
Other Services - first aid center, baby changing facilities, bathrooms with showers, prayer room, among others. There is an information center for passengers on level 2 of the international terminal and several information desks on the ground floor of the domestic terminal.
Disabled Facilities - ramps, lifts, disabled toilets, shops and cafes have wheelchair spaces, among other facilities. For passengers with special needs (eg wheelchair) is recommended prior arrangement with your airline or travel agency.

Parking - The airport has parking areas for short and long-term, in both terminals. There are spaces reserved for disabled travelers. The long term car park includes valet parking and car wash service. Parking rates: ParkQuick ($2 australian dollars first 15 minutes), ParkShort ($22 dollars up to 4 hours) and from 4 hours the type of parking is called ParkLong ($100 the whole week).

Accomodation - Brisbane Airport has no hotels within the enclosure. However, in the vicinity, there are several hotels, such as the Hotel Formule 1, Pinkeba Hotel or the Comfort Inn Airport Admirality.
